Loving Cynthia Rowley's Off The shoulder Pattern for Summer 2017!

If "Plan A" didn't work remain calm there are 25 more letters in the alphabet!

Hello sewing loves I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and you're ready to get this sew week started.  On a personal note I had a great weekend spending mother's day with the husband person (kids nowhere to be found LOL) and getting a little shopping for my accessories wall done.  While I would love to say that I was able to put a dent in my sewing project list as well, that's not how things would turn out for me this weekend.

You see what had happened was............. I ended up having a long drawn out battle with a double flounce skirt I was working on that absolutely refused to cooperate with my vision.  In my defense I definitely gave it the old college try and instead of throwing it away I'm going to try one more thing before burning it to smithereens !  Yes you heard correctly if this next thing doesn't work,  I just might throw it in our fire pit and watch it slowly be erased from my memory FOREVER!  Anyhoo after trying to make something work that absolutely refused to cooperate I decided to take the cute little top I did finish and rock it with my favorite pair of white wide leg pants from last year's summer series. Thankfully the two married well together and I didn't have to spend the rest of my mother's day weekend trying to figure out what else I was going to sew for the photo shoot on Sunday.

The top I was able to finish rather quickly I might add is Cynthia Rowley's off the shoulder pattern recently released  with Simplicity's early summer series.  The pattern itself calls for softer silky fabrics and/or lightweight cotton types, but hey you know me always pushing the textile envelope I decided to use some scraps I had left over of this fabulous floral taffeta.   While the pattern is a really easy make it's something that I think will appeal to all skill levels.  I would however caution anyone interested in making this top to pay attention to the sizing as I ended up making a small which I have to say never happens!  All and all I love this top and it would be a great addition to anyone's summer wardrobe.

Hugs
