VINTAGE DOESN'T MEAN OLD OR OUTDATED!

"You don't always need a plan. Sometimes you just need to Breathe, Trust, Let Go and see what happens."

~Mandy Hale~

Wow this quote is so true and I’m learning the value of these words more and more every day! Hello lovelies happy Tuesday I hope all is well with you.  I've been busy nursing my sick baby (he’s twelve yall) who’s been sick since last Friday back to health.  You know what they say a mother’s work is never done and boy are they right!  Poor booboo still not 100% yet but he’s doing a lot better than he was earlier this weekend and I’m happy about that.

In between my duties as nurse mom I tried to slip some draping and pattern drafting in whenever I could, which usually occurred late in the evening when everyone was asleep.  I have so many ideas in my head for the spring but I decided to let the fabric lead me.  I know most people think of bright colors for the spring but I’m more of an earth tone girl and decided to continue in this direction. I recently purchased some fabulous fabrics for my spring pieces and so far everything is moving along quite nicely.  Of course I can’t wait to share my vision of spring with all of you real soon but for now I still have quite a bit of fall fabrics to finish off.

You all may remember the Vintage Vogue pattern I used for this project, because it was a such hit when I made it earlier this year in a plum colored knit.  I absolutely love this pattern and knew I would use it again I just wasn't sure when or with what fabric. Since I 've wanted a suede dress for quite some time I decided to try and manipulate this faux suede fabric to fit this vintage pattern. While the sleeves are a little dramatic I absolutely love how the dress turned out and I would definitely do it again.  I decided to accessorize the look two different ways for the pictures to show the versatility of the dress.  I hope you like what I’ve done family, enjoy the pictures and have a great week.

Big Hugs

Shari
