“A Good Life Is A Collection Of Happy Moments”
~Denis Waitley~
Yes Yes Y’all, It’s me and I’m still celebrating but happy to back in the sewing house with a new project to share with all of you. As you should all know by now February 6th is my birthday and for those that don’t know me I make it a point to celebrate all month long until I’m totally pooped! LOLL There are so many ways to celebrate and I try to find and do as many as I can including sewing without interruption. Yes I love to celebrate by sewing without hubby, kids family NO ONE around in my space clouding my creative vision. My family knows if you want to make me happy during this time bring me some good food and leave me in my studio ALONE until I decide to come up for air.
When I get in that creative head space I can knock out projects left and right, which is exactly what I did the past week. Of course I did go hang out with my girls to celebrate with birthday shenanigans from Wednesday until Sunday but I still managed to get in the studio in the mornings and early afternoons to get some things done. Now the three projects I completed during my birthday week I will share later but today I’m giving you life with this fab Floral coat I made using the Beaute J’adore coat pattern created by Nikki Brooks. Now this is my second time using Nikki’s coat pattern and I have to say if you’ve gone through the process once the second time is a breeze.
This coat pattern is really easy and it only has five actual pattern pieces which is right up my alley! LOLL Listen I am busy enough without adding a coat pattern with 20 pieces to my project list. So when I realized Nikki’s pattern would be quick, easy and chic I jumped right on it. Please note I did a short review of the pattern and some areas I was a little concerned with in my November 5, 2018 post so I won’t go over them again here, just know that this pattern can be done by anyone no matter your skill level. Now that’s out of the way back to our regularly scheduled sew channel!
When I decided to make the coat again I knew I wanted something with a funky vibe, something chic that I could rock out with one day and dress up the next if need be. Of course I had a completely different vision in mind when I started this project but the end result is pretty fabulous thanks to my little gem of a fabric store “The Fabric Shop” in Diamond Bar California. Trust me I will get back to my original idea eventually but for now this will more than do! Needless to say I absolutely love this pattern and will be doing a few version for spring with a twist on the fabric that’s going to knock your socks off so stay tuned for that. In the mean time check this beauty out and have a fabulous sew week!
Hugs
Shari
